Terrence Lakin: A Shmuck is born -- make that "birthed"

Thousands and thousands of U.S. military personnel are spending the holidays far away from their families, many of them in hostile territory. They are there to serve and protect their homeland, the country where they were born.
But one soldier -- now a former soldier -- will spend the holidays behind bars because of his obsession with homelands.
Lieutenant Colonel Terrence Lakin, part of the so-called "birther" movement, was sentenced by a jury on Thursday to six months in a military prison. He was also dismissed from the Army.
Lakin, a seventeen-year Army doctor from Greeley, refused to deploy to Afghanistan last year, publicly demanding on YouTube and elsewhere that President Barack Obama first prove that he was born in the United States and is therefore eligible to be president. The nutty group refuses to believe that Obama's Hawaiian certificate is real.
Very patriotic. Too bad the entire birther movement can't be court martialed as well.

And the best comment regarding this entire incident…

So where's the military revolt? Where's the rioting in the streets? I've been reading 'birther' forums (like Freerepublic) ever since this all started, and they said that's what would happen if Lakin is imprisoned. He'd be the martyr that would stir the nation to action! Military revolt! Riots in the streets! So, um. Where are they? Taking the Nation Back by pounding away on their keyboards. LOL!

Rioting in the streets doesn't serve any purpose.  Lt. Col. Lakin's situation will serve as the impetus to organize a demand on the new Republican congress to investigate the truth of what Terry lakin is willing to sacrifice so much for.  His name will be on the demand to investigate the trial and on what basis Obama is considered a natural born citizen and constitutionally eligible for the presidency.

This is far better than rioting in the streets.  More is accomplished by putting increasing pressure on a new Republican congress that may contain some with character and courage sufficient to defend the Constitution and the American people.

We shall see.

There won't be riots in the streets. There will just be MORE Birthers, not less.  The Universe's Smartest President has continued to dodge the simple questions about where he was born.

True, tis America and you may say what you wish!

It only makes MRS PILI LAKIN stronger, and there IS NO FORCE in the world stronger than a wife's love for her husband, esp when a Usurpative imposter tries to bully him!

Wait and see!

We've BEEN waiting, almost a couple of years now.

First, you were supposed to assassinate him at the inauguration.    No wait, first you were supposed to get the Electoral College to vet him.

Then you had the AGJ's predicting he would be out of office by 1.4.9.

Then you had Orly Taitz predicting he'd be out of office by 10/09.

Then you muddled thru several more idiot lawsuits by Apuzzo.

And now your only hope is Orly's warmed over POS appeal in early January.

Now all you've got left is "We'll see!!!!"

You're getting stronger by the minute.

LAKIN did what JODL "SHOULD HAVE DONE"
------------

http://www.thepostemail.com/2010/12/21/margaret-hemenway-to-military-officers-stop-using-the-nuremberg-defense/

Alfred Jodl, Chief of the Operations Staff of the High Command of the German Armed Forces, at Nuremberg, claimed it was not the task of a soldier to act as judge over his supreme commander– but he was found guilty on all four counts- sentenced to death by hanging.  LTC Lakin has been sentenced to Leavenworth for doing what Jodl and others should have done- which was to question the legality of his orders, per his training as an officer.
