"Whenever one tries to suppress doubt, there is tyranny." Simone Weil
I know neither of you would have either the heart or intellect to fully grasp Simone Weil. Very few can. However, she describes the potential results of your misguided suppression of the question of Obama's eligibility and Lt. Col. Lakin's efforts to defend the Constitution as he is duty bound to do.
You have no idea that your attempted suppression and condescending attitude towards those expressing legitimate doubt may lead to disastrous consequences including street riots if Obama is removed.
You will of course say with the finest innocent look you can arouse: "Who could have known." It will be a poor excuse. If doubting Obama's eligibility and the demand for proof had led to public clarification, it would have ended there with only a few grumbles. Now your attitudes along with politicians and a biased press contribute to a potential constitutional crisis the results of which we cannot fathom.
Your lack of respect for those who doubt Obama's eligibility means that anthing you say in support of objective journalism in the future is pure hypocrisy.
Your choice, not mine.
